Default NEXT Step

I have a 91 MK7 5.0 HO, it has an Explorer intake, underdrive pully kit, msd coil with cap and rotor, cold air intake, shorty unequal headers, high flow cats into o/r cross pipe that dump into flowmasters all 2.5 inch. With a MAF engine what should i do next. It has the stock E7 heads, should i get a set of 1.7 rockers, maybe a cam, what about the explorer GT40p heads, i can get them for about 70 bucks a set. What would you do on a limited budget.

You should go for a gear set. Very nice bang for the buck mod. Stay away from GT40P's.

ok, what would you suggest, it has 373 now, maybe 410, it has aod trans, i was thinking maybe a stall converter. the reason i was thinking the gt40p's was because they are easy to find and are cheap. what do you think about the explorer intake, i noticed a bit of a diff when i changed mine over

If you already have 3:73s and you like them then stick with them. Most people go 4:10 with an AOD. As far as the GT40P's, I had them and had nothing but problems. The Explorer intake is a nice start but there are much better intakes out there. Your best bet would be to save for a nice cam, intake, and valve-train.

one thing I would have done first from looking back although it will not really give you any power is upgrade the radiator. if you want to make power you need to be able to cool it. another upgrade I was glad I did was a brake upgrade as the stock brakes really suck.
