I would run the dipstick mount on the bell housing that way when the motor torques it doesn't want to pull the dipstick off the firewall. You should be fine with the smooth bands.

For more detailed information talk to silverfox at

There is also a sticky over there for building a high hp c4.

Also, check out c4king's website. He has a small shop that builds nice c4's and knows alot about them. He also has some great customer service. He is located in Ohio so he is a little closer to the border for ya.

thx for the help. I've read that site you recommended. And they state to use the waffle fibres to help fluid escape. I guess i'll search to buy some waffle frictions.

smooths work fine I have a c4 thats been in a 9.20 street/race car with only smooths in it no problems with it there are others ways to get the fluid out HINT HINT read more... I have run the TCI front servo it is a Knock off of the stock H servo that for stock seems to be the best as a matter of fact one of the big time C4 builders used nothing but the H for years. if you are gone to run a brake you really need to look into a harden input shaft and a GOOD converter and might want to start looking at a upgraded planetary. Turbo cars love C4s that is for sure but C4s can get ate up fast with turbo cars due to the large torque that they make and the low gears needed with the turbo setup low as in 3.27 or 3.31.. Make sure you run GOOD fluid it makes a huge difference in rebuild intervals I have found for my units..

i've been doing some shopping around on summit looking for a hardened input like you guys suggested. But my question is they only put one tooth count. I know i'm stock and i need 26/24 but they only list one tooth count number. Am i to assume its the 26/24?
