Default My first appearance modification

well, other then the headlight cover's, this is the first MAJOR appearance modification I have made to my car.

free shipping for x-mas so I bit the bullet and decided it was a good time to make the car look better.

Always loved Boss Inc's hoods, more unique then the other stuff out on the market, and much more function out of them then other's as the cowl is wider and better for big intakes/351w swaps.

Cost me $400, free shipping. Weight savings is 20lbs over the stock hood.

under side:

here I was trying to show how much room it makes around the intake/throttle body. I bet I could fit another 3 inchs of intake under there now, and a big throttle body, without it hitting. super victor, elbow, and 90mm throttle body here I come

Stock hood weight
I could NOT find anywhere where someone had PROOF of the stock hood weight. I was on google for like 30min looking for someone that posted the weight of a stock hood. everyone was just GUESSING! So here and now, is PROOF of what a stock hood weighs (latch/lever is still attached)
42lbs 5 oz

boss inc hood weight
20lb 15oz

and a full profile picture of the car
(excuse my messy garage)

So I have much more room now, dropped 20 more pounds from the front of the car, this hood is supposed to be designed to pull hot air from the engine bay, so that will be nice, and it just makes the car look MEAN. the exact AGGRESSIVE look I wanted for the car

I would recommend these hoods to anyone. fit is PERFECT, lines up great with no issue (the pictures are with the hood laying in place, not attached to anything)

hope you enjoyed me showing off a little. This is my Christmas present to myself, haha

Nice! It is a little hard to see the extra clearance that the new hood gives you but it seems like a big difference. The weight difference as well is worth its weight in gold! Nice mod and keep it up

he might end up selling all the top end parts he has.... in lieu of a nice, low mileage 400+ hp 347 stroker....

Nice! I know your next exterior mod should be fixing that front corner

well if you look at my intake manifold, it was touching the stock hood. rubbed quite a bit of the intake manifold away, haha. and the cowl is considered 3.25". if you look at the stock hood, then the boss, its clear to see there is much more room. the stock hood also has a ton of bracing or what ever you call em under it.

The big purchases have been put on the back burner for now. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do. money is coming in a lot slower, and I will more then likely have to start working grave yard shifts, and watching my son during the day, while my girlfriend is at work. so im not sure what I will be doing.

If money stays as tight as it has been, I might just go get a explorer 5.0 junkyard motor, put in new rings and bearings, and call it good.

Still waiting on a parts list and such sir. We got time to sort it out, I dont plan on deciding for a little bit, and you have a while until your back home so there isn't a rush.

haha, well I have gotten a quote from 3 different shops. That damage has been there since I bought the car, and every place I talk to wants to re-paint the entire bumper, and they can't guarantee that the color's will even be close at all.

If im going to do that, ill also pull the front licence plate, and have them fill in the holes that someone drilled in my bumper for them. Thats the only reason I even have the front licence plate on (other then its the law) is because some jackass drilled two huge holes in the bumper to hang them.
