I have a 92 gt 5.0 with gt40 heads and intake, b3o3 cam, bbk shortie headers and catback and 3:73 rear end. I also have a 1995 camaro z28 bone stock. I got my friend to race it against my mustang and it kicked my butt! We switched drivers and the stang lost again. Any suggestions?

 

get rid of the B cam

 

to pull ~ 2 cars on an "acquaintances" (long story) 96 Z/28 A4 (auto) 3.73's,
i needed IIRC:
3.08's (stock)
full exhaust
13* timing
CAI
new pump and actually got my A/F to 12.8:1 finally
driver mod <------ IMPORTANT!!!!!!!
little bit of weight reduction
tune up (plugs, wires, filter, etc)
a couple other things too im sure

remember LT1's come with at least 75 more hp, 50 more cubic inches, manuals come with more gear (3.42's) stock, and they pull hard to 5500, not like a 302 that struggles to pass 5000.

alum heads, and a comparable cam really wake up a 302, and the size handicap becomes pretty negligible at least comparably speaking.

but i dont have to spend 3 hours doing my spark plugs, remove my engine to do a cam swap, i have REAL dual exhaust with ground clearance problems, i dont have an un-original SBC that sounds like a bag of ***, and lastly...
