if you don't apply a uv protectant of course it won't last, 4 years later, mine on the 92 looked fine still when I sold it.

Wow, those are some low #s some of you are throwing out. I watched craigslist for over two months looking for a '88-'93 5.0 coupe and never saw one less than $3500 that wasn't ragged out and standing on its last leg. I picked this one up for $5,400 and feel good about the deal. I realize that most people selling a car ask more than what they're willing to take for the car. The seller was asking $5900 and that asking price was very reasonable when I compared it to (literally) over 100 other comparable Mustangs in my area that were for sale. Personally I prefer the look of the coupe and that's why I was specifically looking for a coupe. I had an '84 hatchback and never did like the look of it. I guess that's why Ford makes hatchbacks AND coupes, huh? Different people have different preferences.

Hey... back to the headlight thing. I spent some time looking online this morning for replacement stock headlights for my car. Looks like it's going to cost at least $140 to get a set of them and that's not for OEM lights, but for a set of aftermarket lights. But I see several products at Advance Auto Parts to restore the factory lenses. When you guys use the lens restore stuff do you have to remove the headlights from the car for that? Or do you just basically use the kit to polish the exterior of the lenses while the headlights are still on the car? Thanks!

I left my on the car when I buffed/cleaned them, but I replaced them 8 months later.I bought them from here.

Ok... I tried polishing them this morning with a 3M kit. It helped but still not as clear as I'd like them to be. Before is on the left, after is on the right. (hopefully you can tell that without me having to point it out... Oh, I also ran a hair dryer for 5-6 minutes on each light to get rid of some of the condensation on the inside of them and that helped a little, too.

Hmmm... well I'm not sure which 3M kit you got, but the one I have used on many cars is the $20 kit with sanding pads and polishing compound. Every set of lights I have done came out clear. Since those headlights are still cloudy might as well get new ones.
