Default few updates on project

well got some new stuff/work done on the car in the past week.

AND i literally JUST got back from picking up the rearend from Han's at Deans performance and everything looks GREAT so hats off to him. Ran into a small problem were i accidently got 5 lug axle disks, when i was goign with 4 lugs, so i will have to hit strang up and try to exchange these.

For the exhaust im going with the stock manifolds right now, and i got the rest of the system which includes a UPR x pipe (no cats) and MAC 3" dumps.

Then i finished up the gauge cluster (still have to finish up a few connections) but you get the idea

Then i got my competition engineering driveshaft safety loop installed behind the TH400, along with finishing up the transmission crossmember (all of which has had POR15 applied to it)

And i took advice from one of you (cant remember who as i write this) but re did the fuel lines a tad bit for a cleaner look.

Then i received my steering kit from Racecraft which included grant steering wheel with a button for the line lock i will be installing, strang quick release hub, and light weight column

Then finally after busting my a$$ i got the rear installed in a matter of 45 min from when i got back from Hans's shop. Still need to adjust the suspension so the rear sits in the right spot

maybe one day this project will be finished...... maybe

its starting to look like a car again!

what are you doing with the rear floor? welding it back in? or sheet metal?

why staying 4 lug??

main reason.... already had weld drag lights with 4 lugs... to lazy and didnt wana go through the hassle of upgrading lol

And for the back floor we are going to be using some sheet metal, putting a 90 degree bend in it and cut it to the shape of the wheel well opening then pop rivet it in, so if i need to get in the suspension area at any time to do anything major i can easily remove the piece

makes sense, id also use some sort of a seam sealer to keep exhaust out of the car and to pass tech, is your battery going back there too?? cuz i am pretty sure you'll need a firewall blocking it off to pass tech as well.

I only have flipped through the NHRA rule book... realizing my car is in no way legal for the track... for one my neutral safety switch is dead...

ya ill look into it, not really planning on running it at a NHRA sanctioned race/track this year, the cage hasnt been teched/certified yet, and i dont wana pay to have it done this year so that will probably happen this coming winter (as long as the car is done by then lol)

and o yay i already have a body caulk to take care of sealing it up, not going to just half a$$ it then die cause of the exhaust fumes lol

project is kinda on hold for the next couple days to a week right now cause i FINALLY got a tool box for the garage, so now i am taking the pain staking process of cleaning every tool i own, and organizing the mess lol

Looks great! Didn't you re-wire the whole beast? Steering column looks nice; did it save much weight?

Great progress Kweb, lots of good wrench turning happening lately. Hope the wife saved me some money so I can do the same.
