Default Window switch

My window switch on the drivers side quit working, so I replaced it and the pass. side,,seemed to work ok,, until I heard a series of hummimg types noise coming out of the door panel on the passenger side when the window was rolled up tight ,, if I back it down a touch,, it stops.Turn out Drivers side does it too.

Gettin ready to take a trip to the Cruisin OC show in a couple weeks and dont want to be stuck with an open window ( it usually rains at least once).

Is there an adjustment that might have changed when I replaced the switch ?? Got the switches from 50 resto.

Any help would be appreciated.
Steve

Does the pass. switch do the same thing? Or does this happen just from the drivers door? Is this a convertible?

I would take the panel off and put a meter on the motor to see if it is still getting voltage after putting up the window.

No convertible,, and the passenger side does it also. I thought I read where there is a limit switch inside the door panel ,, but cant find it. Why would changing the switch change anything?

I need a better manual than chilton.

It shouldn't but your main switch could be defective.

According to my Ford Service Manual( which I dug out of my stack of literature for all my toys, I actually forgot I had one) the convertuble has the main switch,,not the hard top.

I made the mistake of not unhooking the battery before changing the 2 window switches,,so I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and reconnected it and it seems to have stopped the humming,,,but now the drivers side window has the automatic close when you just touch the switch to put the window up, is this standard window operation?? or did the new switch make this happen?

Would that circuit be in the window switch?

I can't imagine it's part of the switch alone. Also be careful if you decide to take the door panels off, cuz if you break those clips your toast.

Also my brother and I will be in OC this coming weekend too with our foxs.

No in line with the window switch.
It would be in between the switch output and the motor.
