Because like most things auto wise, its overpriced! Major groups electronics and transmissions! you get decent fluid and your looking bout 30$ fluid. Are they Flushing the fluids or removing the pan and replacing the filter and fluid?

Like most shops your going to get overcharged, no matter how hard it is. Even if it takes 15 mins, you'll likely get charged for a full hours worth of labor. Most shops charge 35-75 dollars an hour, maybe more.
For the ignition box, plugs, tranny fluid, etc. your looking at probably 3-4 hours even if he doesn't drag his feet.
Unfortunately that is the cost of using a shop instead of doing it yourself. There are some good shops and honest mechanics though, you just have to find them.

6 wires that I don't want hooked up wrong. I do everything and have done everything to my car, but I want to have the peace of mind that this is done right. I hate electrical stuff. Now, that doesn't mean I don't trouble shoot it first. I spent a week trying to find an electrical short before I gave up and took it to the mechanic.
This guy isn't going to rip me off. He's too good and too quick. He'll do anything on a mustang except the paint.
But, anyways, my smog is no longer in the car, and he's mounting it under the CAI near the headlights. He's not using the plug n' play connectors (problems down the road in my opinion) No need for it when you can wire it directly. Also, it is a T5.

Maybe I am missing something here, but why don't you ask the person doing the work how much it's going to cost? If you ask 10 people on here you are going to get 10 different answers.
