Default 96 explorer engine

I'm working on a project and on another site there has been a lot of talk about explorer engines as a swap for the mustang. The talk was that the exp has gt40 heads and that some of them are roller cams. can some one educate me on this? I found a running 96 for cheap but didn't want to leap before I know what I'm doing. thanks

all 5.0 exploders were roller cam. the 96-97.5 came with GT40's and 97.5-2001 had GT40P heads. You can identify the heads from the bars cast into the end. 40's have 3 bars, 40P's have 4 bars.
