so i know a stock block will not live around 500ish hp atleast for long. what is the max tourqe it would able to handle? i have seen some guys running turbo setups with good hp and a ton of torque, wondering what the 302 would be able to take. thanks mike

rpm and lack of tune are what kill a stock block or more so a lot of power adder on it..lol keep the tune safe and you can run them in the 450-500 range but it's always a crap shot for some

its a crap shoot for sure like mjr said. I was running around 650hp and im guessing aroudn 600tq at the crank for a good 4 months, before then around 575hp and around 500tq for around 3 years, motor never gave me any fits and i sold it to a guy who put it in his wifes vert who then crashed the car this past summer

Well I had a 308 with a tfs topend with and 150shot no tune for 4yrs depends on machining and proper assembly go a long way. Rpms over power as stated above will keep ur block in 1 piece althought they all have a stress point.

Like said, tune and rpm, also balancing. And it depends on how you drive it.
