As someone who has owned both vehicles you're talking about, get the mustang.
Anyone who knows intricate details about vehicles will shy away from a 98 Durango. You found a sucker. Trade it before you can't.

Pros of 95 GT:
-Better handling than the earlier fox body 5.0s.
-MUCH better braking than the earlier fox body 5.0s.
-Same great 5.0 engine as the early fox 5.0s.
-Much easier to work on than the later 4.6 Mustangs.
-Cheaper and generally easier to make run decent times with than the later 4.6 cars.
-A plethora of aftermarket parts are available.
-Looks great.
-If kept stock, will run forever.
Cons:
-Relatively slow stock, 215hp isn't much for a performance oriented car these days.
-Less performance parts available than the earlier fox 5.0s.

-Long story short I would still take the 90-93 foxbody 5.0 !
-know nothing about durango's but you have a chance to get a mustang, cops will be watching you more often if you do......... "LOL good luck !

Cops shmops, don't drive like a jag off and they won't be watching for you. 5 and a half years and I've never been pulled over. And I have tinted windows.

I would certainly take a Ford over a Dodge of that vintage. The Durango is a time bomb. I don't think the Mustang, with those miles, is worth more than $2500, so, valuewise, the trade sounds fair.
