i found a mexican block for 350 says hecho in mexico in the vally and the whole nine yards. i need to know if this is a good deal or not? i herd the only differnce was thicker main caps? yes no? any one have any advice or opinions on it. i here differnt things on the hp rating for them too
the webbing under the crank in the block is thicker as well as the main caps and the main cap bolt holes do not go all the way through to the other side like a roller block.....= stronger......as for hp level, there is no real level but I have seen 600+ on a mex block
You are aware that if it's a '71 block that it's intended for flat tappet cams aren't you.
I don't think that it's a smokin type deal at $350.
Maybe $150..........
And then it better be REAL good.
yeah im trying to talk him down a bit on the price. ok so would it be worth it to not have a roller block to gain a bit more oh hp capability? thanks for the imput guys
I sold the last one I had for $350 it was a std. bore block so they will go for $350 but if you can talk him down that is good for you. All he can say is no
