I run HD yukon 4 lug 28 spline axles and slicks, broke motors, tranny but not the axles, not saying 31 isn't a good idea just had good luck with what I have so far oh and the car runs mid 10's @128

I had the same good luck with my SRT-4. But when it comes time to swap out the stock gears for something a little more agressive. I'll do everything. I just like the idea of doing something once and forgetting about it.

I've seen 31's break too , so in my book there is no ever "doing something once and forgetting about it" but if it gives you piece of mind that's all that matters, for me I haven't worried about the axles on mine, they have taken 5 + years of abuse. But sooner or later I'm sure something else will break on it

Drive it hard it'll break!! The neon would spit out a clutchs every couple of years but never broke a stoke axle. I don't think I'll have enough money to worry about the rear this year. Looks like the top end and spray will happen though.

When you pull it apart there are shims on both sides of the carrier when you remove the 2 caps. Just keep track of which ones are on which side of the carrier.
