Default safety loop

It may have been asked before, but I'm having a hard time finding info I'm looking for. I am wanting to put one in, which, may be unnecessary to some of you but it never hurts to make sure since I do race. I am just wondering what is the best option for the fox. I am really wanting to avoid any drilling, and prefer something round. Was looking at jegs universal at first but a coworker said he's seen the oval design allow the driveshaft to sheer the floor on a car before. Obviously, I don't want this, and also as said I would probably have to drill to fit that one. So what kind do you guys recommend?

Got the jegs one in my car, dunno if the loop caused the issue you speak of. Iam gonna say location of the loop will effect how it reacts IF the driveshaft drops.....not because its oval.

You should run a loop at both ends of the driveshaft, never the middle. The one ford racing sells fits perfectly at the transmission side. Lakewood has a good one for the axle side.

That would be preferred, but are the ones you guys mention about to install without drilling

Here you go. This ones round, and Im sure you could weld it on...but it might not be the best http://www.jegs.com/i/Jegster/550/40...oductId=744055 and heres one thats meant to be welded on http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMR-DSL004/ ... Unless you mean one that you dont have to drill holes for OR weld in... that would be a safety loop attached with glue? Im hoping you want a weld on one.

It needs to be bolted in to be legal with NHRA/IHRA due to the fact the Mustang is a unit frame type car.
1 bolt on each side of the the hoop is all you need however, my car is that way and it has passed all sorts of tech at NHRA/IHRA races.......
BTW, you only need the hoop on the trans side to be legal to 10.99 if you are using a one piece driveshaft........

I am meaning I thought I saw somewhere that there were some that used factory bolts. I found that for a newer mustang but don't seem to find them for foxes except for one I found. Here's a link:

It looks nice but can't find any other info on it. Price is a bit up there too. That first one does look pretty nice though. How hard would it be to have one put on the rear too, anyway?

The one for the rear has to be larger to allow suspension travel. The one on the trans side is pretty small. The one ford racing sells fits perfectly in the trans tunnel.

Ford racing is proud of there stuff.
Mine is a Lakewood and fits very well in the area just aft of the trans.
Spend the money, they don't wear out or need any kind of 're-certification'.........

Ford racing should be proud of their stuff...

I'm only saying it's good from experience. Haven't used the Lakewood.
