I've tried a steeda tri-ax and to me it was a bit notchy, pro 5oh was good and I currently have the tall chrome handled hurst shifter in mine and I absolutly love it! Took me about a day or 2 to get used to the tall handle but to me it's not notchy and it's very precise. Rarely do I miss a gear with it.

I ran 10.17 @ 132 in my '92 notch with a T-5 and a UPR Blue Thunder short throw shifter. As with most manual trans cars, I was in fourth gear at the 1/8th mile. That means I powershifted 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th in less than five seconds.

People can say all they want about such and such foo foo shifters that have eleventy billion clicks of adjustment and super nifty *****, but you don't mess around when you're choosing a short throw shifter for a car that is knocking on the door to the 9s.

The UPR shifter has always served me well, and at $135, there is NOTHING that competes with it.

But I could be biased.

The Steeda Tri Ax shifter has gone through many tests and studies and it is intended to be notchy for several reason. We have determind that the 20% throw is ideal for the driver, the transmission and ultimately for not missing a gear.

Our shifter gives you the confidence that when you shift from 2nd to 3rd gear that you will hit the correct gear as opposed to having a gummy feeling and shifting back into 1st , into 5th, or just missing a shift. Our shifter has crossed the finish line in first place more times than the competition and that is something we are proud of.

Like many things things, some will like the notchy feeling and others wont. Only you can decide what you like. Hope whatever you choose will make you happy!

Best Regards,

TJ

this is almost like a presidential campaign. i kinda like it. keep going any MGW sponsors on board? lol its still a hard choice though. really i think you could spend $1K on shifters and then pick the one you like best. everyone likes different shifters for different reasons. its all up to the person. but i will be honest it think with the upr, MGW, and steeda tri ax you cant go wrong. they all make great products.
