So im getting the 302 trickflow top end small block ford kit and replacing my headers with bbk shortys.. My only concerns are will i have to replace my transmission its stock... will it be able to handle it... and will i have to switch the gear ratio?

 

Your transmission will be fine. No you dont have to switch anything. If your looking for performance. you'll want to get better gears out back.

 

So you have a stock trans.... but is a T5 or an AOD?

Either way, I wouldn't expect it to last long.... I have the TF kit and it puts out considerably more power than a stock engine which puts out just under what a stock trans is rated at.

I went with a Super Comp C4 rated at 1000 hp... a little over kill for what the TF kit puts out, but then again, I also have 150 hp wet shot of nitrous.
