Default Clutch Kit(s)

Hey guys. I'm swapping out my rear main seal, and I think my clutch could use changing while I have the transmission down. My question is which clutch kit to go with!? My 93 5.0 is totally stock except I have a full exhaust and CAI. I DO NOT plan on adding more power to it until I'm out of college.

Bottom line, my buddy is saying get an aftermarket throw-out bearing because it's a critical part, and go with a clutch kit from American Muscle (he owns a DSM). I'm wondering if I should just get a "Perfection" clutch (that comes with everything) from advance autoparts for $90.00 and the Perfection flywheel for $60.00, and call it a day. Or spend 350+ on something more? Is it critical that I spend 60 buck on a throwout bearing, or should I just go with what advance has because it's stock? Thanks for any advice!

Ive always been told to stay away from autozone/oreilly/advance/etc clutches. I would look into Zoom or Spec

My friend said over and over stay away from Zoom! lol He said he went through 3 of them within 15,000 miles on his old 2.2 DSM (non turbo). He knows cars very well, so I trust him.

Are you sure you even need a new clutch?

I think so. If I do not push the clutch pedal in allllll the way I have a really hard time swapping gears. I have not seen it yet, but I'd say it could use it. Either way while I have it down, it's not going to hurt.

You might as well replace it while you're in there. I'm currently shopping for a clutch too....on american muscle the ram clutch has gotten some good reviews. Also, I've heard nothing but good about the Centerforce dual friction clutch.

True but a lot of people think that if your clutch engages when you have it on the floor its going out, but in fact its the opposite, If it engages a couple or few inches off the floor, it's going out and will soon start slipping and what not. Hope this helps!
