Windshield wiper problem
Hello all,
1988 Mustang LX. Wipers all of the sudden just started to slow down, then stopped.
Now Im thinking motor, because of how they quit working, they slowed down and stopped in a matter of 30 seconds or so. Early today, while they were in on position, tried to start car, and everything just froze up. Then let off key, and restarted, everything worked normally. I only add this in, incase it may have a bearing on what happened, though I dont think so.
Thoughts or trouble shooting steps?

Due to the progression of symptoms, the best bet is the motor. All the electrical components of the system would either work, or fail. Slow-down is motor only. Only other thing that would cause it, without it actually being the motor, would be a failing alternator combined with a dead battery.

check for arm binding failure then check motor. Disconnect the arms under cowl and see if bearings are seized. Once the arm is off the motor side turn the wipers on and see if motor runs okay. I f it doesn't then replace.

Last update before I get to work on it this weekend. Started it up and turned on wipers. They worked immediatly, but then slowly started to slow down and stutter. That wouldnt be relay overheating somewhere? Still seems motor I think?
