I'd recommend no higher than 3.73s. If you start getting into higher power on the street I'd even say 3.55s.

I wish I had done 3.55s instead of 3.73s.

Don't waste your money on UD pulleys. Put that $100 towards something that will give you an actual performance gain.

Also, who goes in and upgrades the brakes first on a 5.0? wut?

Timing is free. And all of the bolt on mods advised in other postings can be found on Craigslist for a fraction of new cost price. It's a good idea to check there first, usually guys trying to recoup some money from new parts they just bought. Good used condition parts and you can haggle on the price, try doing that at jegs or local performance store.lol have fun and good luck!
Also, if you have never changed gears in rear end before, you may wanna find a shop or friend who knows what their doing.

How much timing needs to be taken out or added? Never did that yet

Advance the timing. Base timing is 10 degrees, usually people go from 12-14, somewhere in there.

Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, 60 hp. $1200, but worth it IMO.

Dang mike, that's not a cheap simple bolt on.lol a couple hundred dollars more and he could buy a pro charger with 8psi and 55% hp increase

He just bought the car. A few months from now that budget will go up, need for speed opens that billfold.

Usually when the billfold opens for speed it's cause your looking for more money in the bottom that doesn't exist :-/
