Default Breather Setups

I need some ideas on breather set ups. I don't really want to run the factory pcv setup. I'm going to vent both valve covers, but need ideas on whether to just run two breathers or run a catch can (need ideas for mounting catch can as well). Post some pics or ideas!

Got any pics? How is it hooked up to the valve cover? Ive seen where some guys weld a fitting on and then run ss lines to the catch can

not to thread jack, but whats the benefit of running a catch can? Also I'm using the valve covers off of my 302 and only one side is plumbed for a filter.

Its all good. Catch cans keep the oil off of the valve covers and exhaust manifolds. The breather on the valve cover will start to drip since there is oil mist being vented out with the crankcase pressure. To me, a catch can is easier maintenance than trying to replace a pcv system. So you'll vent both valve covers to a catch can, which then has mesh on the inside to separate the oil and air. Then the air is vented to the atmosphere via a breather on top of the catch can.

I am just wanting to know how to go from the valve cover to the can

Further thread jacking: Do I need to vent both valve covers? On my 302 covers only one side is plumbed, on the oil filler neck.

That's up for debate. Some guys say yes and others say no. I personally say yes, vent both sides. Are you running the factory pcv system also?

Hadn't thought about that, I'm not gonna be able to since I'm going carb'ed am I, with the non-efi intake manifold.

Would the other valve cover be as easy as drilling a hole and sealing a bung in there?

I use breathers on both my valve covers and I have NEVER seen any oil dripping out of them.
Been running it that way 3 years now..
This fall I plan to go to a vac-u-pan setup how ever.

Pretty much. Just set it up like your other cover
