Default Throttle Cable

I am in one of the last steps of my V6 to V8 swap but I need a throttle cable. My car is a 94. I have been looking online and I cant seem to find one on summit or similiar websites. Any ideas on where to get one would be nice. Or another car that has the same cable that I can pull it from in the junkyard would help too. Thanks guys.

Yea you have to get one from a 94-95 mustang 5.0 . there is no other car that had that same intake set up on it.

Late model restro don't even carry them that I could see on there web site, and they usually have every thing. So junk yard or ford dealer is probly you only course.

A wrecked 94-95 mustang is basically out of the question. I have been looking for one for over 6 years and have yet to come across one. It is an explorer motor that is in the truck with the explorer upper and lower intake if that helps any. Just trying to find a way to get this thing going. I have yet to put the throttle body on so if there are ways around this I'd appreciate some ideas.

Yes, there's a way around it. Since you have an Explorer 5.0, the upper intakes are the same style as the 86-93 Mustangs. The 94-95 models have a different style. So, you can either spend $100 for a throttle body adapter elbow (Trickflow and Edelbrock sell them) and continue searching for the 94-95 throttle cable...

OR

You can stick with the explorer/fox style throttle body configuration. This will allow you to use a fox body throttle cable. Here's a link to the cable:

I can send you a document I have that explains and outlines the swap. Just requires a little wire splicing for the TPS I believe. In my opinion, the foxes have the better setup. It really cleans up the engine bay and dealing with the passenger side valve cover is much easier. Supposedly it also helps with throttle response and idle

Or, you can use www.car-part.com and go through the hundreds of SN95's in the junkyards across the US.

Just contact the ones who have TB's and ask them about the cable.
