Default Next engine.......thoughts?

Hey guys. I'm pretty sure you've heard me bitch and complain about my current set-up. It went the time in my sig. but has been a nightmare. I've had an electrical issue that just wont go away. I've been stranded twice and have had two seperate mechanics look for the short-problem? So I've decided to rip everything out and go to a carb. I'm also going to be going to a Dart 347 or 363 block. I'll be using my current 190CC heads and will spray the new motor with at least a 200 shot! If anyone has had any experience with the EFI to carb swap I'd love to hear about your build and the parts you used. The car is currently a full on track car so I'm not worried about MPG or any of the other dumb stuff you hear when the topic of EFI to carb swaps come up.

I would go with the bigger cid also it will just make peak HP sooner then the smaller cid but will tend to run out of air up top could always port the heads. As far as carb swap I would do a standalone EFI over a carb any day but thats me.

Have you looked into a standalone system like Megasquirt? This is what a buddy of mine did when he contemplated switching to a carb set up.

Those 190cc heads are going to prove to be to small even for a good 347.
I'd peddle them and add some moneys to get at least a 205cc head.....

I have thought about the stand alone. But after fighting this electrical battle for a year and losing. I feel the carb will be more in my wheel house as an older guy that grew up with carbs. Even the local shop "All out Automotive" couldn't figure this glitch out after 4 month of playing with the car and switching out every part know to man at great expense to me. The guy that built his own 8 second mustang at All Out said my electrical system beat him down. Also the price of a carb set up should be cheaper. I have the ignition parts already with the MSD 6Al so All I'd have to do is get a fuel regulator, manifold, carb and linkage plus a few brackets unless you guys can think of anything else? I can pretty much trash the EFI and just keep the part of the chassic harness that works the head lights etc.

I agree and down the road I'm thinking 225CC heads. Like I said though for now the 190s are paid for and a head swap isn't a real nasty job later. I'd done it a few times on different cars now over the years. I really looking forward to ditching the 302 stock block and going to something that can handle some power. Every pass on this block has me holding my breath waiting for it to go. So trying to purchase the Dart block and get it running in the next few months will eat up a lot of the parts budget.
