Default Understanding the Ford Performance Pack Tuner Vs other Options

Have any experience with the Ford Performance Pack 2 Tuner? (ProCal)

Trying to better understand how the tune stands up next to the other options on the market? Anyone have any thoughts? What about the powertrain warranty, what I understand Ford Performance provides this warranty and dealer can still take issue if there a powertrain failure suspected to be coming from the tune and at this point is a finger pointing game. Anyone have this experience?

Ford tunes are pretty conservative thus the reason they will still cover the car under the factory warranty. You should talk to your dealer. Some are recognized FRPP dealers/service providers and are much more friendly towards ford and non-ford modifications including tunes, superchargers, etc.

Go with an aftermarket tune as opposed to Ford, you'll get more bang for your buck. Also, if you make any bolt on changes to your car, tuners can e-mail a tune. With Ford you have to mail them the entire device and wait for them to mail it back to you...that's if they even support the mod you want to add. Most aftermarket tuners fully support the mods they sell with their tuners.

Last thing, the reason I say a FRPP dealer/service provider and that their friendlier is that if you have car troubles with your modded car, they're more likely to find the actually problem and see if it's covered under warranty or not vs a non-FRPP dealer that will automatically look to void the warranty regardless of whether or not the failure was related to your specific parts.
