Steering Assist Fault Service Required!!No Power steering!!
Long story short, i bought a 2018 Mustang 5.0, 10 speed at auction to rebuild. I ended up paying around 9k after fees and towing . in the process of rebuilding it i ran into a lot of electrical issues which since then i have resolved. I replaced the body wiring harness because a pile of wires had been crimped during the accident and it caused a lot of communication issues to where it didn’t even let me program a key to the car. After the harness install, i also has replaced the bcm thinking it was fried due to the wires. (it was not) However, the keys where able to be programmed after & then once the new bcm was programmed by ford the car started right up. Now i get Steering assist fault & the car has no power steering at all, i reset the codes and they come right up immediately. Im pretty sure the steering control module is not damaged and is working but i am wondering if there needs to be a SAS reset (steering angle sensor) in order to put everything back in working condition since i did drop the steering column and replaced the clockspring, column collapse sensor & airbag.
If anyone has any leads or can point me to a direction that would be great, i will post pics of codes that i got. Thanks.
