Be sure and include all your info in your original post next time . Built for the extra RPM, yes, a 3v should still be producing more power in the higher RPMs. But your original post led people to believe that simply spinning the 3v higher would increase the RPM, which is not the case.

Sorry, I keep forgetting that half the population has an IQ under 100.

On the S197 forum, Livernois has posted some impressive dyno numbers.

In their's, the car ran 378 rwhp when it was new. Once it had 2000 miles, it ran 391. Two things here: The car made 13 more hp after break-in, and the car made far beyond the 412 crank hp that Ford says. Both are hard to believe, but certainly raise expectations.

With a tune, they got 415 rwhp out of the car, after break-in. No other modifications.

Perhaps a smart person would have included all the information in their original post?

Don't get defensive. Hug it out.

Face it guys the 4.6 was a great motor, and a move foward from the the old push rod 5.0. the new 5.0 is a move forward from the the 4.6 and a better motor. Its ok....4.6 guys.... In ten years if v8's are still around the current 5.0 will be dated. The current 5.0 is the best motor so far....

Those runs were done in 4th gear which is not 1:1 which for a Dynojet dyno to read correctly it needs to be. When you run them in 5th gear (1:1) they measure out about 20hp less.

And they still have no torque.

I could give a flyin’ F what that motor makes. My 2007 makes a touch over 650 on pump with stock cams and I saved enough with rebates on my 2010 Vert to buy a blower, wheels, tires and set the suspension up.

Catering to the lowest common denominator is the reason why this country is such a mess. I refuse to add to the problem.

Get off the high horse buddy. Your statement initially indicated you were the dummy and now you're criticizing others for not assuming you were smart. Can't blame us for thinking you were the noob especially when you continue to act like many of the people here are inferior.

Please show us this dyno lay over you speak of on the same dyno from the same day with the same correction factor.

Because what you are saying is the 4.6 with a PEAK hp rating of 315 (and that's for 2010 only) at 6000 rpms makes as much power as the 5.0 V8 that's rated at 412 hp at only a few hundred rpms more (up to 5000 rpms).
So at 5000 rpms the 4.6 is making how much power? Let's say 290 crank.
So from 5000 to it's peak of 6000 it would pick up 25 hp.
But if the 5.0 is making the same 290 crank hp at 5000 rpms, it would need to pick up 122 hp from 5000 rpms to it's peak at 6500?

And of the several dynos I've seen already from the 5.0 that isn't the case the power grows progressively and smoothly. To pick up 120+ hp from 5000-6500 rpms that would be like giving it a big shot of Nitrous right 5000 rpms.

So sorry, I need to see what you are claiming to believe it.
