Clutch Question

Clutch Question
I got a clutch question for you guys. Is it normal for the clutch to stiffen up? When I say clutch I do not mean the pedal itself. I guess the shifter would be a better word. At times it seems to not shift as smoothly as when I first got it. I don't have to man handle it or anything, but I have a lot more feeling in the shifter when changing gears than I noticed before. Is this normal? I have had 3 Mustangs before this one and just don't remember them acting the same. I have about 1500 miles on the car now so maybe this is just part of the break in??????? Sorry if I used the wrong terminology for anything. I am not the most mechanically inclined individual.

That's the first I've ever heard of that. Mine has loosened up after break-in. It's nice and smooth now (1400 miles), but I really had to force it into the lower gears when it was new.
Perhaps you're just more sensitive to it now? It's easy to overlook such things during the honeymoon, but start nitpicking after you have had it a while.

Maybe I still got some breaking in to do. I have been taking it easy since day one. As far as WOT goes, it seems to shift better when I am getting on it. I don't have any grinding or anything like that. Maybe it is just me. I take it in next Friday for the hood scoop so I guess I could get them to see what they think.

Well I figured something out today. When I leave the traction control on it is smooth as butter. When I turn it off (which I usually do) I get more feel. You can call me nuts, but I swear there is a huge difference in the feel of the stick. Not that any of you were that worried.

I've noticed on mine that sometimes it will shift into 3rd smooth as butter, and sometimes it will feel a little notchier and make a little clunky noise. How i'm driving it seems to make a difference though, i.e. the rpms and the speed of the shift. I'm guessing its just due to a little driveline play.
