One question though, I'm getting a little confused about "axle backs" and "cat backs". To me, an axle back is basically just mufflers and tips. A cat back is from the cats back (obviously). Is the Magnaflow Comp not a true catback?

Performance is the primary goal, sound is secondary, and there may well be headers and an X pipe in future mods. The beast is going to roar a bit.
