Will the auto trans hold up with a blower kit plus a few extra goodies?

 

The 6R80 I assume is what you are asking about.

A more recent actual testing of an '11 GT with 6R80 auto was done by American Muscle, and with bolt-ons, they were able to pump enough HP through it to propell the car to 11's.

With nitrous, which they estimated at 100HP a shot, the 6R80 took that punishment too and the car hit 10's.
I was astonished at how much the 6R80 took; the exact mods AM used were listed in MM&FF December issue.

If the 6R80 stood up to all the bolt-ons plus nitrous, I am sure it would stand up to the same bolt-ons and moderate boost from a supercharger.

 

Are there any shops that can beef it up?

 

Probably not yet. Why do you need it beefed up?

 

They have been mid to low 10's with no sign of breakage. Cars are going 1.4 60's with stock convertors.
