Default what gear am I running????

Just bought a 2011 GT Convertible with 6 speed stick and the window sticker does not tell what gear is in it. the other sticks on the lot said 3.73 on the window sticker. is there another way to check other than contacting Ford with the VIN and getting build sheet? dealer said either 3.73 or 3.55?

I would especially if your papers you signed says you paid for the 3.73:1 rear gear option.

I figure it is 3.31. No big deal, I was just curious since its not on the window sticker.

Yea if your car was advertised having a 3.73 gear and it didn't, you might be able to get something from the stealership. Worth a try. Thanks for the reply. Ill check the tag on the rear axle, once it quits snowing here.

Yours will be 3.31. 6sp manual convertible=3.31 with no option to change.
6spd auto convertible or coupe=3.15 with no option to change.

Figures that, you'd think the dealer would know alittle about these cars. Especially simple stuff like that. Thanks guys

The good news? If you upgrade to a 3.73 or a 4.10 gear (probably $500-$600 installed), you'll feel like you picked up 50 hp. Since the speedo will need changed, you'll need to combine it with a tune/tuner, which will get you more hp.

I updated my gears on my (now traded) 2010 GT from 3.31 to 4.10. Since the speedo needed adjusted, I grabbed a tuner/tune. When I picked the car up with the gears and tune for the first time, I thought I had been beamed into a rocket ship.
