Default Limited Slip Differential.

What type of limited slip differential comes stock on the 2011 GT? I've searched the forum, and Googled quite a bit, but I must not be using the right search terms. I ask this question, because many of the reviews for the Boss 302 Laguna Seca mention that it has a "proper Torsen limited slip differential." This leads me to believe that the stock GT has a "lesser" limited slip.

Carbon clutches only come with the 3.73's, 3.31 and 3.55 cars come with regular friction material. Chewy just so you know the regular GT's use friction plate clutches to transfer power to the wheels, the Laguna Seca use a worm type gear to transfer power.

Do you have proof of that? I'm not explicitly doubting you, that just seems like an odd statement to make without knowing for sure.

And Wikipedia is not proof.

Thanks for the answers!

I'm trying to find a way to put the power I have available to the ground. I have the 3.73 gears, and I spin the tires so much it's ridiculous. My first performance purchase is going to be 9.5-10 wide inch back wheels. After that, though, I may look into getting a better limited slip. I just don't see the point in forced induction if I can't use the power.

Again, thanks for the quick replies!

Better LCAs and better tires are your answer.

Yeah the first thing I'm going to buy will be wider back wheels/tires. Of course, I'll have to buy new front wheels at the same time so they match.

What will new lower control arms do for me?

If I were t replace my rear end limited slip diff assembly, I would go with the Detrout Tru Trac too. That or the Detroit Locker.
But for the more DD and street driving I do, I would prefer the near smooth and unnoticeable operation of the Tru Lock. That one uses helical worm gears instead of locking and locking with the noticeable clicks of the locker
