Default Barton shifter vibration

Installed the Barton shifter and bracket in my 2011 about 300 miles ago. I get a vibration coming up through the shifter around 2700 rpm reguardless of gear. It goes away if I put a little downward pressure on the shifter ball or change the rpm. Contacted Barton and they suggested placing teflon tape on the threads for the shifter ball. Didn't think that was the problem, but tried it anyway. Went a step further and placed a rubber washer under the metal hole where the shifter goes through the boot. Still vibrates. functions fine but annoying. Any suggestions?

My guess is the vibration was already there, but with the shifter and bracket's lack of insulation, its just more apparent now.

I would agree with ^^. I have the shifter w the bracket and there is no vibration on my car. When I installed it the shifter ball gear diagram didnt sit right so I put a rubber washer right below the shifter ball but otherwise I followed the install exactly.

As the others said - however - I would strongly recommend against putting pressure on your shifter while in gear; You can cause serious damage doing that.

I only put downward pressure on the shifter ball to test it to see if I could get the vibration to stop. A little pressure stops the vibration. I also installed the shifter bracket when I installed the shifter.

I would go back and check the bolts you took off to to lower the whole set up which allowed you to remove the factory bracket and put in the new one.

Also check the bolts keeping the new shifter in place. If this does not work I would call Barton directly
