Wow, I must be doing something wrong because I rarely stomp on it. I do about 70% city and 30% highway and average about 17mpg. Automatic with 3.15's, a little over 5k miles.
No your just honest about your mileage. You can play w/your reset button a d get some good numbers. Just sayin
I reset my average mpg after every fill up. Been driving like a granny for the past 2 days driving city only and I average 17.7mpg so I guess I am doing it right haha.

I seriously don't know. I floored it up to 150mph (141mph according to my phone) and still got over 20mpg during that 35mile trip to work. Granted, that including filling up and resetting my computer less than one mile before getting on the freeway. Speeds were 75mph for 25 miles straight until I decided to drive stupid for about a minute, then I proceeded to slow back down to 75mph. My job is 4 miles off the freeway and by the time I was in my spot, mpg was like 20.5

Lol - that's funny. Oh no, let's not use logic and say that the people who are seeing high mileage are just driving mainly on the highway, let's just jump straight to calling them liars.
Everyone knows the digital readout is usually 1-2mpg on the optimistic side. I personally see 24+ MPG, mostly highway, on a 93 octane performance tune (such as BAMA), and 21-22 MPG, mostly highway, with my 93 octane Lund cam tune.
My readout is generally 1-2mpg lower than actual values. It's not just how you drive, it's how (and when) you shift (for MT owners). If you're not skipping gears, you're not getting the best MPG. I shift 1-3-5-6 or 2-4-6 (sometimes 2-4-5-6) and doing that vice using every gear has easily gotten me 2mpg.
I am getting 17mpg in mixed driving. 9500 miles, 3.73 gears. But, I drive it like I stole it. I regularly pass the moronic, left lane campers on the right side. Sometimes I reach 95mph to dispose of those idiots.
hell yeah haha.. i do the same thing most of the time.. but i can squeak 30 highway in 6th at about 80.. I get worse MPGs at 65, needs more gas to keep her there than at 80 i guess, idk..
