Default x pipe?

Hey guys, recently had Roush exhaust installed on my 2012 5.0. Worth every penny. Would an x pipe be beneficial at all? Or should I just keep the stock h pipe?

Keep the stock H-pipe. Any off road mid pipe is WAY to loud with the Roush mufflers.

Options are:
bolt in x-pipe for the h-pipe, stock cats - negligible gain, different sound
bolt in off-road x-pipe - 10 hp@+4000 rpm, loss on low end torque/hp, annoyingly loud non-streetable exhaust, almost all the gain is from the loss of cats.

the off-road, correct me if im wrong, requires a tuner to disable the second set of O2 sensors which may void your engine warranty or at least your emissions equip. If you dont care about your warrentythen getting a tune from bama, bbr, lethal perf. or one of the others will only help.

Thanks guys. I love the way it sounds now and I can't justify spending that much on an x for only 10hp. I'm just gonna leave the h pipe.

There was a very similar discussion over at MM, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to that place since MF has been a bit picky about that in the past but you should be able to find it if you search for "What does an X pipe do????"

Here are some vids from that thread, the OP says it sounds terrible but I think it sounds great ... different strokes I suppose.

I saw one manufacturer say that testing proved more power with the H pipe in the mustang, over an X pipe.

I saw another saying the opposite. The truth is that it's within a few HP and really comes down to what you think sounds better. Some have speculated that the X is better as you pile on more mods, but that is just speculation and nobody has dyno tested many mods side by side on the same car/day/dyno with an X and H pipe to my knowledge.
