Default Machining a Custom Shift ****

Hi, I'm finishing my last year of school and while I still have access to pretty nice machine tools, I was thinking about making a shift **** to replace the stock manual part. I have plenty of machining experience (I'm also the TA for the machining class at school) so the limiting factor is knowledge. What I don't know is whether changing the mass balance or cg will be bad for the transmission. If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No it should not have any negative impacts, just as long as it is not ridiculously huge.
