Default Suggested amount for lowering?

For those of you that have lowered your stang what do you feel is the ideal amount to lower? Based on performance, looks, driveability, suspension travel, etc? Also, did you notice any handling improvements by lowering? Thanks.

I recommend the FRPP springs for street use, especially if it is a DD. FRPP offers different spring rates dependent on what your intended purpose is. Lighter spring rates for street, stiffer springs for track/racing. Also, get the shorter Jounce bumpers from FRPP if they are offered for your year & model.
It is usually not recommended to drop more than 1"/1-1/4" for a DD street car. Any more than that and you will be quickly into your jounce bumpers, then the ride gets brutal.

Ok, great. I"ll definitely look into that. Happen to know the approximate cost? Thanks.

I paid $165 for my FRPP springs at American Muscle last fall.

If you just go the 1"-1 1/4" do you need caster camber plates etc.?

Ive been running eibach prokit springs for the past 2 months. 1" front 1.5" rear. Had it aligned to well within factory specs with no CC plates. The rear axle only shifted maybe an 1/8 of an inch to the drivers side. They actually ride better than the stock brembo springs.

Lowered mine 1" in the front and 1 1/2" in the rear because I have a pretty steep driveway. I got the combo kit from Sam (Koni shocks and Steeda springs) and couldn't be happier. I did some research and got the right combo package. Yeah it looks great lowered but you want performance to go along with it too, the springs match the shocks.

Most cars you will not need the C/C plates. But my Cobra was at the OEM limit of adjust-ability without the C/C plates BEFORE I lowered it. So I had to get the C/C plates.
I went with the Maximum Motorsports C/C plates. The cost more but they are definitely worth it.

Our FRPP lowering springs drop your Stang about an inch and a half, which is the perfect look IMO! An 1.5" drop will not require CC plates on 05-13 cars, but they'll definitely help the alignment get dialed in more accurately. These springs will improve your handling and keep a comfortable ride for any DD.

They're going for about $210.00 right now, but if you find any better publicly advertised price, we do Price Match! So check out our competitors sites and see if there's anything better offered and give one of our Mustang Experts a call @ 866.727.1266. They'll be happy to hook you up!

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with, too!

Shane

Had Eibach Prokits on my ride first but later changed my mind since i wanted a lower and more aggressive stance. So i went with the Eibach Sportlines which drop it where i wanted but the ride did get a little bit rougher, but not too crazy.
I do have the eibach prokit shocks and struts as well.

this is how she sits today

but what are you going for tho? do you plan to autocross it, or track it?
or is she just going to be a show car? these should help determine what stance you would be going for.
