Default Hurst shifter

I am about to install a Hurst Billet shifter in my 2012 GT 5.0 with the manual transmission. Will this cause any problems with my transmission or the rest of my car? Thank you

I cant speak from experience with Hurst, but have an MGW in my '03 (best in my opinion) and i love it.

To answer your question, no alot of people have them. Go ahead and do it if you want to

If it is installed correctly, im 99% sure that there would be no reason for it to cause harm. only thing i can think of is an improper install

Hurst has been making shifters for cars since the 1960's. Im sure that installing one of their products wouldnt hurt your car. However there are better manufactures out there for shifters for the MT-82 tans, like xx10gt stated(even though his trans isnt/wasnt the same as ours there still a good brand) MGW and Barton are(just to name in my opinion the top two.) however i had a hurst in my 06 gt and loved it! So to answer your question, No the shifter wont hurt your trans or car. Just make sure your follow the instructions line by line and you shouldnt have any issues.

p.s. congrats on the new shifter hope you like it

Thank you for your input. I feel more reassured especially since I am having it professionally done. I actually picked the Hurst because of the reputation, that and the looks of it. Thanks again.

The shifter went in fine and looks great. You were right about the higher noise levels. The only negative is that it is difficult when i down-shift into 2nd at an elevated RPM. Otherwise it seems to be working pretty well. Thanks again for all the input.
