Spark Plug Question
So when I bought my Mustang (used), the previous owner told me that he left colder spark plugs in it because he had run a 100 shot system through it. He said that if I went back to normal (or hotter than now) plugs that it would help out with the performance a bit. Reading around, I see that having colder plugs when the motor is N/A can hurt, but how much does it really hurt it?
I was looking at the NGK's Laser Iridium's, but not sure if that would be the way to go. What do you guys recommend for spark plugs? All I have is a Steeda CAI and BAMA tune for the engine, so nothing huge as far as power mods go. I have not peeked at what he left in there, but I will try to get around to checking that in the next couple of days.

These NGK Laser Iridium heat range 6 spark plugs are exactly what I would run in your 5.0. The 5.0's tend to like a slightly cooler plugs anyways, you could probably get away with running a 75-100 shot with these guys, too. Pull the current plugs you have right now and see what you're working with and then go from there!
You could also strap a nitrous systems back on the car...just saying haha.

Yeah, i would rather supercharge than put a nitrous kit back on if I go that far. I just like a supercharger whine on a Mustang, lol. I'll try to tinker around with it Sunday, and see what I've got.
Thanks Shane!
Thanks Shane!
So I pulled one of them out today. Brisk RR14S's are in there now. I'm still doing some looking around, but I can't find what heat rating they would be considered.
Here is their website for the plugs: http://www.briskracing.com/silver-ra...rk-plug-detail
EDIT:
Based off of these two sites...
http://www.gettorq.com/store/ford-mu...isk-rr14s.html
http://www.briskracing.com/heat-range
it is Heat Range 14 which is equal to NGK's 7 (colder than the 6).
Should I be fine with these, or still go with the warmer plugs? If I do switch them out, I'll probably just save the Brisk's in case I ever go to a FI setup.

They appear to be one heat range cooler than stock according to http://www.gettorq.com/store/ford-mu...isk-rr14s.html

You'll be 'Okay' with those plugs for right now. If you plan on keeping the car N/A for a while and want to get the most out of it, I would switch to the NGK's I first mentioned.
Bottom line is, you won't hurt anything but continuing to run your current plugs. You're just missing a small amount of performance and fuel efficiency.
