Default Boss or Cobra Jet manifold.

Was going to place an order today for Boss manifold and starting to read about new Cobra Jet. Have an auto, put in 3.55 gears and bama tune worried about low end loss?

The CJ manifold is tuned for 7800+ rpm range, there's your answer. I wouldnt put the boss on your car unless you have mods to compliment it, meaning exhaust [more than an axleback]etc.

OP,

The CJ intake manifold is not the right manifold for your setup. This intake only compliments the most extreme builds and does not work well with bolt-on 5.0's.

I would definitely go with the Boss 302 manifold instead. You'll see some nice gains with a Bama custom tune, but it will really wake your 5.0 up with a CAI, TB, and O/R mid-pipe!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

given the mods you have right now. The Boss will lose some down low tq/hp but up top its ridiculously efficient, and compliments mods later very well. Its a worthy mod if your gonna throw a few mods at it. but if your gonna barely do much, other than looks its prolly not worth it. I did it for looks and the fact that I wanted to extend my rev limit. at factory rev you wont see much of a difference in peak power.

Unless you plan on spinning your engine upto 7500 rpms and above, neither are a good idea. I personally do not feel comfortable running the rpms up that high on stock GT internals.

I rev mine to 7800 and the car never stops making power. But I have a SC. When I was still N/A power plateued at 7600 started flattening at about 7300.

I like my boss manifold, I didn't really notice a down low loss, but that might be because I have to be so light with the pedal when I would have an issue (1st gear 0-25mph) and only had 3 runs at the track without it... oh and I installed 4.10s the same day
