Default Supercharging

Hi Everyone, I have been reading through the supercharging based threads and frankly, there is just so much out there.

I'm hoping for a more concise idea... I have an '11 5.0 Auto. The only modifications I have done are a C&L Intake w/ Tune and the SLP loudmouth axle backs. The car is running consistently in 12.48 - 12.55 range.

I live in Central Florida and would like to have it installed by a professional shop. I know about LaMotta and have reached out to them, but I would like to do more due diligence and find out some different options.

My goal is to be at a RELIABLE 600 - 650 RWHP.

Thank you in advance for everyone's feedback.

A buddy of mine has an '11 auto car. He is running cat-back, tune, Roush 2.3 SC, and supporting mods. On big 'n littles, he is running 6.8x 1/8th mile times. That's low 11's-high 10's. He is in the mid 600's as far as HP goes.

The Roush is a good setup and the best tuner out there for them is VMP. And guess what? They're in central Florida!

I have the Roush Supercharger and I am very impressed with the results. Mine was installed at Roush in Plymouth MI on the assembly line where they convert the GT to the RS3. My tune was through JDM. But looking at what JDM and VMP are claiming for results they are very similar. Both claim 575 RWHP with just the supercharger & 82mm pulley and just over 600 RWHP with the addition of headers. That puts you pretty close to your goal. Plus the Roush SC is a nice looking addition under the hood.

Best of luck,

Al

Bit late but, Unless he's ridin' the brakes, has something wrong with the car or has the wrong gear maybe, a 6.8xx 1/8 should net an easy 10.6xx , if not 10.5's for an 600+hp A6 car.

I have a blown 3v with 'only' 590 rwhp and run low 6.9 1/8's, 10.8's in the 1/4 and trap 130.

I'm not sure if he's run it in the 1/4 mile. I'll look on my local forum and see if he's got any times posted for 1/4.

*edit- No 1/4 mile times, only 18th.

There are tons of supercharger kits on the market for this car, an absolute TON. Roush makes their own which is really just a TVS system (which you can buy outside of Roush without the Roush decals etc...), we've got Edelbrock, Kenne Bell, and a few more that are escaping my mind, but the one kit that I do have eyes set on is the kit from Vortech because of the price, and the ability to upgrade to big power when you want.

I've seen threads before, but with the Vortech kit, running on E85 with upgraded injectors and Vortech's upgraded fuel pump boost kit, and a AED Tune, we're getting above 700rwhp. But if you want a good reliable system good for 600 at the crank then the standard Vortech tune would do it, and you'll be spending a hell of a lot less than most other companies for superchargers, which will give you room to get a performance tune, and maybe some updated injectors.

With the Boss intake and a decent tune, a reliable 600rwhp is pretty simple stuff:

I had a Roush put on my 4.6L and I couldn't be happier with the performance. I also looks very much like a GT 500 type of installation which I think adds to the value of the car as opposed to some less expensive bolt on approaches. There are cheaper units, but O would go with the Roush approach.
