Default Build List

Hey guys. Im currently making a build list on AM and I need some input from you guys. I want to make sure everything Im looking at is worth the money. The items are listed below so just tell me if each of them are worth buying and what type of gains or benefits I should expect from each. This is all for a 2012 GT. Haven't purchased the car yet, but Im making my build list now.

1. Ford Racing 3.73 gears
2. JLT CAI and Bama tuner
3. Snow Performace stage 2 NA boost cooler
4. SR strut tower brace
5. J&M adjustable panhard bar
6. Eibach pro system plus
7. JLT oil separator (passenger)

I can't decide between the Roush ABs or the Flowmaster Outlaws; both sound so nice. Also which x-pipe would go well with the Roushs or the Outlaws.

Thanks

You left out whether you had a manual or an auto or your intended use of the car. Two very important things.

please note:

i do not own the car yet. Purchase may be in the near future, but Im just assembling this build list now so I can buy it all right when i get the car.

As for the car its going to be a manual and its going to be mainly for street use. Daily driver, but it might see a couple strip days if im feeling it.

You can get the car with 3.73's so no need to put that on a build list. Honestly maybe you should actually purchase the car first. Ever heard the term putting the cart before the horse?

okay ill try a different approach.

Can you guys just tell me what benefits each of the parts I listed would provide to a 2012 Mustang GT in manual that will be a DD?

cai and tune are amazing on these cars. Id probably go with either the steeda cai or airaid cai.

Suspension kit is great too.

get those 2 then decide if you really want or need the rest. $ would probably be better spent on wheels and tires rather than the rest of what you listed. Adjustable PHB may be necessary and i think the UMI on-car adjustable PHB is the best.

With the roush, you dont want an offroad pipe or it will be way too loud. Roush axleback is designed for stock exhaust imo.

I agree that it may be a good idea to have the car in your possession first, because your build list may change when you drive/see the car. However, I can definitely make some recommendations and point you in the right direction!

1. Gears are one of the most beneficial mods you can do for the butt dyno. You'll notice huge gains in torque and acceleration. This is a must have IMO!

2. Absolutely! CAI and a Bama Custom tune is the best combination you can do for your new Mustang. You'll notice huge gains in power, torque, acceleration, drive ability, gas mileage, throttle response and much more!

3. You probably won't need to run water/meth on a bolt on 5.0. If you plan on doing a blower or something down the road, then it would be a good idea!

4. Strut tower brace is always good! Looks great and definitely has it's purposes. It will tighten up your suspension!

5. Since you're lowering the car, a pan hard rod is definitely needed. This will allow you to re center the rear end!

6. The stock Mustang is insanely high from the factory and doesn't handle all that great. The Pro System plus will completely change the geometry of your suspension and turn your Mustang into a great handling car! You'll notice much better handling and less nose dive in turns and much more.

7. Must have IMO.

As far as exhaust goes, you listed to great options. I run the Flowmaster Outlaw axle back on my 2011 GT with Long tubes and an off-road x-pipe and I love it! This is just my opinion, it is pretty loud inside the cabin.

I hope this helps. Hit me up if you have any questions or need some assistance. Also, post up some pictures of your new Mustang when you pick it up!

So the roush ABs would be nice alone? I really want a nice muscular sound and loud is better, but I dont want it to be obnoxious. I want a clean exhaust sound and from what I've heard the roushs are good.

As for wheels I already have some plans for wheels. Im either going to get the shelby CS70s from AM in 20" or the Vossen CV3s in 20". Going to do 9" in the front 10" in the back. Links to each of the wheels are below.
