The engine doesn't need any more than 91 unless you're turbo or supercharging.

For max performance use the highest octane available in your area, no need for extra additives. And always use "name brand" gas, quality control is usually better from batch to batch.

I second what's been said.

Octane booster would be a waste unless you can only get 87 in your area.

I had to run octane booster with my Bama tune I was getting detonation under part throttle. I ran NOS from autozone. Stopped my detonation but fouled my plugs within 3 tanks. When I pulled the plugs they were covered with an orange film. I started mixing in race fuel until I got my VMP tune which cleared up the issue.

those NOS additives contain MMT which you are NOT supposed to use in a modern engine. that's where the orange deposits come from.

The only octane booster that really works without gumming up plugs is Torco, but it is expensive.

The OP doesn't really need any booster anyway, the newer PCM's automatically adjust timing for the octane - the higher the octane, the more timing it adds / the lower the octane, it takes away timing. But if it has an aftermarket tune, Tuners usually disable that function in a tune so you are stuck with having to use a minimum octane

Buyer beware when it comes to octane boosters. The majority of store bought and online boosters only raise octane by a tenth. So if the bottle says it raises octane by 3 points, this can mean it raises your octane from 91 to 91.3. I think there are already threads on this topic. So may want to search.

But if you want real octane boost, you will need to shell out for something like the Torco mentioned above.

Torco also uses MMT. use at your own risk.
