X Pipe & H Pipe questions
Hey everyone,
Im new here and sort of a newbie when it comes to exhaust systems.
I currently have a 2014 Mustang GT with Flowmaster Outlaw axlebacks and a K&N CAI.
I was interested in getting either an X pipe or H pipe but looking for an aftercat system. Im up in Canada and getting an O/R x or h pipe would attract too much attention Id like to avoid (police).
Ive tried searching some comparisons of a simple axleback setup with x and h pipes but havent seen much on youtube for the S197s.
I was wondering if anyone here had a similar setup that could post a video for me to see what their setup with aftercat systems sound like.
I would love the loudness of an O/R system but without removing my cats.
I know H pipes will increase low end power and X pipes increase top end, where Im getting the extra couple HP doesnt matter as much as the sound it creates. Im looking for a louder, more aggressive sound than I have now.
Any feedback would be great!

Great question! I know exactly how you feel.
On my previous 2012 GT, I ran the JBA H Pipe and absolutely love it!
This kit is Smog Legal - when reusing your stock catalytic converters but can be Off Road - when using the included 3" cat delete downpipes.
The fact that is is interchangeable is what sold me on the kit myself!
Although I ran it off-road at all times, it sounded great and installed easily, I would highly recommend it.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

It really depends on what kind of sound you are looking for!
An X pipe will indeed provide more of an aggressive sound but it will also add to the rasp of your exhaust while the H will provide more of a deeper tone.
If you like an X pipe, check out the JBA X Pipe!
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions.
