2005 Mustang GT Heat Soak
I know this has no relevance to this topic, but here in Oklahoma we're having a record hot summer. We haven't gone below 100 in 20 something days. 7 day forecast: 101, 102, 102, 101, 102, 103, 103. I can definately feel a power decrease when I'm blasting my A/C. It sucks.
Good question...
I'd like to know too - Hypertech Power Stat 160deg
Reische Performance 170deg
Stant Thermostat 180deg
And what is the optimal temp to set via a tuner?
And i'm going with 2 bottles of amsoil coolant booster & tap water. I'm split between N. TX (aka Africa) and NW FL (aka Lower Alabama). I'm not too worried about single digits anymore either.

I can't speak to the Amsoil coolant boost with straight water....but I can tell you to not bother with putting it in with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze. I did it this week and gained a whopping 2 degrees in my intake air temps and engine temps. It may work alot better with straight water. Anyone with actual data to share before I start draining antifreeze?

loving my intercooler and methanol ! it was 97 here yesterday with an heat index of 110 ran an Gto 45-110 killed him twice , first time i jumped out first , next time I let him go first not even close a.i.ts were a cool 107 !
If you think it is Hot, then come to Texas! Bigdin can vouch for what I am going to say, Texas only has two seasons: Hot and Hotter.
In Texas there is saying: if you don't like the weather, wait thirty minutes, it will get hotter!

Are you talking about IAT1 (at the air filter), or IAT2 (after the supercharger)?
After convincing another GT500 owner to use straight water and coolant booster in his intercooler system, he gained a good bit lower IAT2s, but he also had a twin fan unit.

With coolant booster, and stock T stat. Your temps should remain close to the same at the Tstat. The stat regulates your temps, but you WILL gain cooler temps in the heads. The separation will be less from the thermostat sensor to the cylinder head coolant sensor.
