Please help Nick
Nick,
I have a problem. A while back I ordered a clutch and flywheel from AM, Took nearly two weeks to get here then when I looked at the parts the FW was wrong. So I called for an RMA imediately and was re-assured over and over that I would have my FW the next Monday, When I didnt see it I called in to ask for tracking info as no one ever sent it to me only to have Brian tell me that it was never sent and is now on back order with Spec! What?! No e-mail or phone call to see if I would like to change or cancel my order? I asked to speak with a Manager and was put in touch with Ron who said he would try to find me a FW but also said I should talk with Joshua to see what could be done for me as I have to date misse 3 track sessions, 2 appoinments with my mechanic and 3 BBQ meets. I still have no FW and I have been trying to get ahold of Joshua for the last 5 days. He has not returned any calls. I left 3 messages with people to have him call me and 1 voicemail on his phone.
FYI- I called a competitor who has the FW in stock for a little cheaper and he said I would have it in 4 days as he is in Cali. Since you guys never return calls or emails I was never given the option to go with him. I shop with you because I have never had a problem til now and everyone rants about you guys here. But now that I do need customer service where is it? This same guy has the FRPP springs that I was going to order from you cheaper and wil deliver faster. Should I go with him from now on, or are you going to help me maintain this relationship?
Thank you for listening to my rant! Sorry but I am a little pissed right now.

I should be able to find out whats going on, but I need your Full Name and/or Order Number to look up your order. Joshua is very good at getting back to people, it would be weird for him not to call you back. PM me that information and I can get to the bottom of it for you.
Ok... You guys are f'ing kidding me right!? I get the flywheel today and its the wrong ONE!!!!!!! Even the damned little RMA sheet says " Bruce please check item inside box before shipping. Was labeled wrong by manufacturer."
So I look and the package says SF46S.... So far so good, But the Flywheel says SF64S! wrong again! How hard is it? When I sent the old one back I told the man who took the RMA what one I need (SF46S steel for 06 Mustang GT) Then I even circled the wrong part number on the Flywheel with a red highlighter and included a note describing the issue before sending it out! And you know what? I tried to call Joshua again today and never got through to him or got a return call. This is unacceptable!

I looked into it and verified with SPEC and our Purchasing Department that the SF64S and the SF46S are the exact same flywheels. Apparently SPEC originally assigned different model numbers to the flywheels for the sole purpose of tracking sales between the model years, but are combining them under the one model number now...SPEC just didn't tell anybody! As you can imagine, this caused some major confusion and headaches around here the past few days, as you were not the only customer that thought they had the wrong flywheel...and from the previous information that we had from SPEC, we thought they were wrong too.
So basically, you can rest assured that the SF64S is the correct flywheel for a 2005+ GT. I apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this has caused.

So where do we go from here? I am happy to know I have the right FW but what about all the mis-information, the close to 4 weeks now of no clutch, the 3 points races I have missed and the bunch of club meetings?
Bye the way, please thank Joshua for the call back this morning. Comunication goes along way with me!

The mis-information came to us directly from the manufacturer SPEC, so we could only go by what they told us as far as the model numbers go. Since they didn't inform us of this until we recently had complaints about the incorrect part number and contacted them, there was no way for us to know that you indeed had the correct clutch in the first place.
I am not sure what you are looking for me to do further, I mean as much as I'd love to, I can't give you the races you missed back. If we had sent you the wrong flywheel again I was going to try to get the correct one overnighted to you, but you have the right flywheel. I could probably arrange some sort of discount or gift certificate for your next order and a free t-shirt or something. Besides that all I can do is apologize again on behalf of our company and SPEC.

I thank you for the appology. Maybe a deep dicount of gift certifacate and a t-shirt in XL would help soften the blow of this entire fiasco. I understand that it was not entirely AM's fault but it certainly should not fall to me. The issues that still stan for me is.
1. This flywheel I have now took 1 week longer to get here than I was promised.
2. When I called on it sheduled delivery date I wwas told it was never shipped yet.
3. Other than you (Nick) I have had very poor communication with AM.
4. If in fact the parts are the one and the same why wouldnt AM include a note in the box explaining that, since they could guess that I would look at this one and say " It s the same one I sent back" Leads me to belive that the shipping clerk didn't even look at the part. Just the box and happend to get lucky that they are in fact the same.
I would like nothing more than to continue my relationship with AM and to report to everyone viewing the 2 threads on this forum and 3 others that the problem is solved and AM has done all they can to help set things right. So work with me. Call me. Lets close this issue so we my continue doing buissnes
