Question New SCT iTSX

Well, sometime last month some a-hole stole my SCT x3 handheld tuner out of my car. So I have been doing a bit of research on this new SCT iTSX tuner and since I already have an Iphone and ipad this would be a no-brainer.
Anyway, I still have some questions about the device and the tunes already associated with my car. Since I am already a member of AM's "free tunes for life" I would be taking advantage of some new tunes. However, my question is, since my car's tuner was stolen, it was not returned to stock.

---Is there any problem in uploading new tunes to my car w/sct itsx and still having the factory tune?

A different question I had also was with the uploading of custom tunes to the actual device. (ipod/iphone/ipad in this case) I've looked on AM's website and SCT's and could not find the directions for how to get the custom tunes from Bama @ AM onto the deivce.

---What would be the process of getting the custom bama tunes from my email to whatever device i want to use (iphone/ipad)?

Im really wanting to place my order so I can have the freedom again to switch out my tunes but these questions are holding me back. I will be giving AM's Bama tuning customer service a call later today as well to see what they say.

any help is appreciated.

-Thanks

iunno about the ITSX yet, but doesnt your tuner have a serial code?
Just let the companies that unlock them know its stolen and when someone sends it in to unlock it could be returned

Sorry to hear that your Tuner was stolen, OP. That's definitely pretty lame.

To be honest, I'm not 110% familiar with the iTSX and everything it can or can't do with regards to tuning a locked PCM. The serial number for previous hand-held units would need to be paired with your PCM, but I'm not sure exactly how it works with the iTSX.

As for getting new tunes onto the iTSX (if you were to already have the unit and need tune upgrades), it should be the same process as the old SF3s, where you need to install the drivers onto your computer (Mac) and download the tunes via email onto the computer and then onto the iTSX. That information for the SF3 is here: http://www.sctflash.com/support/inde...cleid=25&nav=0 and should be similar for the iTSX.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help with it, it's a new unit and SCT hasn't been up here to give us the run through with it. I know our Tuning Specialists have had one for several months and already know it like the back of their hand, but unfortunately, I'm not quite as fluent with it at this point. If you'd like me to put you in contact with our Lead Calibrator who can answer all those questions for you, shoot me a PM and let me know.

I hope this helps! Have a good one!

I just called Tech support at SCT and the advised me that what I would do since my PCM already has a tune file associated with it would be to go ahead and get a new tuner (iTSX) with new tune files(from AM) and upload the tune onto the pcm. Then they would guide me through a process in which they help me obtain a factory tune, then load it onto the pcm, upload it onto the iTSX then able to save that and load which ever tune i would want.

overall, im pretty excited to get to use a tuner again!

Very cool! Thanks so much for the update. I'm glad to hear that you got it straightened out/were able to work it out with SCT.

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance in the future. Have a great evening!

Hey! I was wondering how this went. I just found this when looking for tuners on AM and now I am wanting a tuner more than ever! Did you end up going with this product? Is the app for the iPhone as easy to use as the iPad? I don't have an iPad but I do an iPhone and won't be getting an iPad too soon!

I got the iTSX and I am pretty happy with it. SCT says that possibilities are endless and the app is quite expandable. I am trying to figure out a couple things though...

The tune files were preloaded on the dongle and not emailed to me, I would like to save the tune files to a hard drive but I cant figure out how to extract them. I havent tried everything yet. Maybe from the app I can email them out or maybe usb the dongle it self to my pc. click and drag.

The gauges seem to be working except the MPH gauge is giving me crazy big numbers. Like at 20 mph the iTSX show a speed of 72.

& what is the data telling me from the accelerator pedal voltage gauge or rather what is it measuring

flashpasta,

If you're looking to save your current Bama tune files, you just need to contact a Bama Tuning Specialist @ 888.226.9764 and they'll email the files directly to you. It should only take a minute, since we have all of your order info in our system!

I'm not sure why the speedo is so off though, that is really weird. When you contact the Bama Tuning Specialists, tell them how the speedo is off and maybe they've heard of an adjustment or issue with this in the past. If not, I would contact SCT and see what they have to say, too. I don't want to leave you hanging though, so make sure you keep me up to date!

I was able to get the tunes emailed to me, except for the stock tune. I am using the performance tune now, soon I am gonna go to the street tune and see if that fixes the MPH gauge.
