Bama tuner question
I ordered a tuner, I love it!! I was reading on bamas web site and it said you can set it up so the car will only rev to a certain point when not moving to help with launches. I was wondering if that had to be written in a tune or can i change that with the tuner?
Yes, we can hook you up with a 2-Step launch control. Just give Mike Wilson a call over at Bama and he'll hook you up!
I'm glad to hear your enjoying your tune, let me know if you have any questions!

I believe most cars have these from the factory? It's called an unloaded rev limiter or free rev limiter. It protects the engine from over reving when it's not underload where you'd most likely float a valve.
If you start your car and put your foot on the gas while it's in nuetral, around 3500 to 4500 RPM you'll start bouncing off of that limiter. That limiter can be brought down to as low as 2000 rpm IIRC so that's the parameter AM is modifying. It's nothing new but it is is a new way to use it I guess.
My 00 V6 would bounce at 3500 RPM. I don't recall what my 08 V8 does it at as I try not to do it on purpose.
BTW I am NOT saying to hit that limiter on your car as it stands from the factory. I'm just explaining how it works.
