Default 3 yr old Pit Bull - Orlando, Florida

A 3 year old female pit bull was dropped off at the shop where I work at. She had no collar. Extremely friendly and listens to commands (but not trained). Loves attention and playing/running around.

We do not know if she's had any type of shots. Because we don't tie her up on the weekends (since she technically isn't our dog) someone snatched her from the street and threw her in a dog fight with other pitbulls. She got chewed up a bit and animal control/police picked her up and started an investigation. Because she was so friendly police say whoever took her used her as fresh meat to get the other dogs training.

Since then we put her on antibiotics to help heal her wounds, and we've had her spade. Currently, we keep her tied up next to our shop during the days, and locked in a crate over night. On the weekends, she runs around the yard since we close the gates.

We don't have time to train her to stay within our open gates (the street we're on has a lot of heavy truck traffic, plus other industrial properties who will call animal control on her). We feel it would be best if she had a proper home. She is just so friendly and starved for attention we're afraid someone might want her to dog fight again. She just doesn't have that in her.

If anyone is interested, give me a holler. We're in Orlando, off of John Young Parkway next to I-4.

Yeah I would definitely take her in if I had property to put her on. I have two dogs and we're already cramped in the apt. I live in. She is very friendly and loves attention.

Awww, man, I definitely have a soft spot for big dogs. I'm in TN, though; I wish I could take her. She's adorable!

Yeah she's a total sweet heart. Since we're slow at the shop lately I take time to play with her and she loves it. If we could get her trained to stay within our gates she'd be fine not tied up. But unfortunately she likes to chase the cats that are down the road and tries to run off...

Crazy how some people will take a beautiful animal like that and use her to get savagely ripped apart and then toss her away like nothing...on the other hand, you are to be commended for what you're doing...thanks for the story!!

Wow, that's messed up to abuse animals like that. I'm also in CA, and there's no shortage of pitbulls for adoption out here. You may try contacting petfinder.com and find out if they can help.

try her. She was listed as No-kill shelter in orlando.
But there could be a bit of a wait before you can get her in. or a foster "family" ponies up.
I volunteer at a no kill shelter up here in Charleston. She would get alot of love and some pretty in-depth training before she went to her forever home.

just a thought!
