SCT Tuner...Should I risk used or go BAMA TUNES FOR LIFE through AM???
I've been looking through the parts for sale for an SCT SF3/X3 tuner for my 2001 GT and see they average about $250.
However, with the extra $100+ dollars through American Muscle you get a guarenteed new/unlocked tuner with 3 tunes and tune modifications for life.
So is it worth it to save the money and buy used??? Not only that, but usually by the time I get to the post the thing is sold anyway.
Any Feedback is much appreciated!

Used will work just as well as a new one as long as it's UNLOCKED. I would get a picture of it showing it's unlocked to prove too.
Tuner is the device that uploads the tunes, how good the tune is depending on who writes it for your car. Am, Brenspeed, BBR, there's tons of quality places out there.

Ok but let me expand on my reasoning. With American Muscle anytime you buy something (gears, new performance exhaust, whatever) they will update the tunes they already provided you for no additional charge.
Where if I buy used anytime I want to modify a tune I have to pay for it. So I'm just looking for some feedback on the tunes for life. I'm a HUGE fan of saving money, but I always hate when saving money costs me more in the long run.

That is a distinct advantage in having them update your tunes being in the Free Tunes for Life. All really kinda boils down to how many mods do you plan on adding over time. Some people are happy with intake, exhaust and tune whereas others ( like me, lol ) started with that and then added and added and added.
And it also depends on what type of bolton's too. Like say for example a underdrive pulley kit. It adds power to the car but it doesn't need a new tune as nothing has really changed on the car aside from gaining back some parasitic power loss.
But most typical boltons will require a new or updated tune. I know a good number of places too that if you buy their email tune, say in 6 months you buy a bolton performance part, they will update your tune for free since you bought the part there.
Pretty sure Brenspeed does that.
