i have bought a brand new alpine 9855 deck for my car. i bought the necessary wiring harness to hook it up. it gets a full display which is a good thing, and it also produces bass through my aftermarket subwoofers powered by my aftermarket amp, however, no vocals, music, or sound is comming out of the speakers what so ever. now i had this same problem with my explorer that had premium sound, and i had to do an "amp bypass" now i think i have to do the same thing to my stang, but i am not for sure, i could use some insight please.

 

u have to connect the blue/white remote wire to the one on radio, if u do have after martket amps this is what allows you to use them and control the old speakers from the new radio.
ps. good choice a little hard to use, and the glide stripe is annoying as ****, but other then that its the best on the market as far as sound goes.

 

alright, i will give her a look-see today, i thought i hooked that one up, but it may have came out, it wouldnt be the first time that happened. oh and thanks, for $550 with the ipod adapter, it better be on of the best!

 

What 9855 did you buy. One of them is a reciever only and does not have an amplifier. You will only get sound when using a 4 channel amp.

 

it says it has an amp. crutchfield says something about a $40 adapter shown here is it worth it? i already bought the normal adapter to fit my car and obviously it doesnt work, but i really do not want to buy another adapter if i dont need it. i do not have the time nor knowledge to rewire my system. what do ya think?

 

Can you link me to the adaptor you already have? Cant remember exacly what the 99 system is like.

 

i believe that there is a factory amplifier in your vehicle and you will need to turn that on with the blue remote wire from radio
