Default Front Speakers for Shaker 500

Hey guys,

I just bought an '06 and it has the Shaker 500 in it. I want to replace the front speakers, so I have two questions. First, what would you guys recommend as a replacement? Also, does anyone have a .pdf file or a quick how-to on how to get the door paneling off?

Thanks!

There are 9mm screws around the edge of the door and then there are 2 hidden torx screws 1 is behind the little panel where the door release is and then their is one behind the door pull, It's not hard at all just take your time, I put some MB Quart speakers in the door and they are so much better than the stock speakers.

jj is correct except they are 7 mm screws....or you can use 9/32 as well
very simple and straight forward as long as you get the hidden torx heads....

JJ, were those MBs conventional speakers or another plate system? If I'm not mistaken, the doors will accept a 6x8" speaker even though they come stock with a 4x6" plate set up. Yes/No?

Thanks,
-j

the speakers are enclosed 4" components made to fit in the ford 5x7 opening a standard speaker will bolt right in or you can make an adapter plate and add your own components

I made my own custom mounting plate to mount my component speakers.
